Paris Fashion Week SS16: Hermès

Casual luxe

Creative director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski’s second collection for the House of Hermès is a lesson in quiet luxury

The collection: Less is certainly more for the Hermès spring/summer 2016 collection. Stripped of anything bold or fancy, looks presented today were polished and timeless as they should be coming from the French house who knows what luxury truly entails. The thing to note from the collection? Let the clothes and fabrication speak for themselves.

I spy: Hermès anklet bracelets. The ankle strap mules worn by the models were in fact ankle strap bracelets, an accessory separate from the heels.

The accessories: Big is definitely better for spring/summer in the world of Hermès. Simple silhouettes require a statement accessory like the oversized metal and crystalline resin inlaid with agate in the form of structured necklaces, cuffs and belt buckles.

#Want: The Hermès technical canvas trainers in white, blue, mustard yellow and red. Best worn with everything as seen at the show.

Favourite looks: The silk scarf inspired dresses, skirts and tops in abstract geometry. Our personal favourites? Look 15 to 18 pleated with leather trimmings, fusing both of the house's most luxurious materials together.
