Paris Fashion Week SS16: Chloé

Rainbow connection

If the carefree hippies of the '70s had a wardrobe choice, they would have worn every peace loving rainbow striped look from Chloé’s SS16 collection

The inspiration: The spring/summer 2016 show was dedicated to girls named Kate, Chloé, Cecilia, Corinne, Rosemary, Emma and Courtney. And with the nineties as the chosen era for the collection, we can be certain that Kate Moss and Courtney Love were the girls mentioned in her show note.

The collection: Everyone knows to expect a 1970s-inspired boho collection from creative director, Clare Waight Keller. This season, the bohemian spirit lives on but into another era — the '90s. Peasant tops, billowing baby doll and festival dresses in rainbow colours felt like a celebration of freedom. But for those who don't quite fancy Chloé's boho appeal, the collection also presented rave-inspired looks like sporty tracksuits and acid wash denim.

Our favourite look: Look 42. We predict everyone's hippie spirit will emerge just to wear that kaleidoscopic georgette dress with multicoloured tassels swinging to the happy beats of reggae.

Must-buy: Season after season, Waight Keller has us clamouring to get our hands on Chloe's footwear. This time around, we want one of each rainbow sliders and gladiator sandals please.

I spy: Harem pants making a return as the new lounge trousers.
