Paris Fashion Week SS16: Carven

Paris Fashion Week SS16: Carven

Under the sea

Text: Dora Aljoofri-Shrestha

It’s only Adrien Caillaudaud and Alexis Martial’s second outing for Carven and they leave us wanting more

The inspiration: Adrien Caillaudaud and Alexis Martial dived deep for SS16. Inspired by the girl searching for an above and beyond sea adventure, the collection's oceanic theme sees the Carven girl on a great ocean diving expedition.

I spy: Mod mini A-line skirts and flare trousers will be the designer duo's signature shapes for the Carven girl.

The prints: Think about the aquatic life you'll see when diving and you'll find it on the printed pieces — jellyfish, octupus, corals and even bubbles.

Favourite look: Look 36. The white halter neck backless dress with frills mimicking the way the jellyfish moves under water.

Something you might have missed: The sweater on look 26 is embellished with dangling beads bringing to mind jelly fish tendrils.
