Milan Fashion Week SS16: Versace

Jungle juice

Milan Fashion Week SS16: Versace
Versace's spring/summer 2016 collection was an expedition into the bush and a trek on the wild side

The inspiration: Clearly, Donatella Versace was on safari for spring. Be it jungles or vast open plains, the designer harnessed the untamed in a succinct collection. Leopard, tiger and zebra prints saturated with Versace and aposematic brights were splashed across entire ensembles of dresses, skirts, bralets and jackets alike.

I spy: A star-studded front row. Supermodels Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell; cool kids Leigh Lezark and Joe Jonas; design geniuses Riccardo Tisci and Christopher Kane, occupied the best seats in the house.

Try it now: Animal print-on-print. The secret to not looking like you've just stepped out of Jersey Shore? Slick leather and deep tones: The textured burgundy dress paired with army green high-cut boots (look 21) both in snakeskin, is an ensemble that is less Snooki and more glamazon.

Favourite accessory: The sequined fun-sized backpacks with removable chain leads that's actually expedition material — it's the perfect size for just the essentials.

Buro loves: The tawny structured safari jacket (look 4) that makes us want to jump into a Land Cruiser and be one with nature. Or, we'll settle for a rerun of The Wild Thornberrys too.
