Milan Fashion Week SS16: Marni

Milan Fashion Week SS16: Marni

Consuelo Castiglione constructs another sculptural collection bursting with punchy primary colours and good vibes

Favourite look: The polka dot dress colour blocked with the primary colours of Bauhaus yet toned down with beige and white.

Must-have: The leather aprons in both tops and dresses. Best way we've seen it worn on the runway? Over an oversized leather jacket (look 4). Who would have thought of that?

Something you might have missed: One baby pink slip dress (look 10) was not as simple as it looked. It was left unsewn at the back to reveal the clever layering executed for the SS16 show.

Try now: This season presents a bevy of summer layering tricks. For example, a sleeveless turtleneck top and skirt combi was worn under a mesh dress and an asymmetrical apron dress (look 6). The best part about this new summer styling is that we (well, those living in sunny Singapore) don't have to wait for the next season to come around. Start piling on pronto!

The soundtrack: The girls traipsed down the runway to the reggae tunes of Baltimore by Nina Simone. All about the good vibrations.
