Milan Fashion Week SS16: Fendi

Femininity with a twist

Milan Fashion Week SS16: Fendi
Whether the silhouettes were Mormon or milkmaid inspired, it was clear that Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi focused on proportion for Fendi’s SS16 collection

Favourite look: The modern interpretation of a peasant blouse with voluminous sleeves paired with high-waisted trousers ruched at the hem (look 27). Now, this is what we call peasant chic.

The details: An unusually quiet collection for Fendi. The clothes may look pared down compared to previous collections, but look closely and you'll see that the extravagance lies in the details. Whipstitching, ruching and 3D floral adornments were just some of the luxurious details added to the looks. And don't get us started on the braided leather skirt that was look 4.

The models: A Fendi show is never without it's opening and closing acts. This time around, Edie Campbell opened the show while British model and musician, Karen Elson closed it with an exclusive song just for the finale walk.

Buro loves: The leather body harnesses whipstitched to perfection. This will be our next season's armour of choice.

I spy: Black graphic lines drawn between the eyebrow and eyelids — set to be a major SS16 beauty trend.

Something you might have missed: What looked like silk ensembles where actually crafted from super supple and fluid leather. And those open weave fur coats: Only possible at this famed Italian furirer.
