MARQUES'ALMEIDA: ALL GROWN UP
The collection: Design duo Paulo Almeida and Marta Marques have cut their teeth with a consistent stable of off-kilter shapes and eclectic styling since 2011. While fall/winter 2017 riffed off the very same oversized silhouttes (looks 1, 2, 15 & 35) that parlayed the London brand into a global name, the Marques'Almeida girl is far more refined this season. Gone is her devil-may-care sartorial attitude, in place, a calculated eccentricism that's almost coming of age.
Buro loves: The punk-ready beetlejuice stripes (looks 1, 3 & 45), supersized gingham (looks 12 & 30), painterly prints (looks 30, 31 & 32) and OTT flouce hems (looks 6, 8 & 10) — a small but impactful host of design tropes that we're itching to experiment with come fall.
Now trending: Those '90s sky-high platforms (looks 6, 33 & 41) that first made their comeback at Marc Jacobs and Gucci.
