Chanel's cruise 2018 accessories are all you need for a Mediterranean getaway
What: Chanel cruise 2018 runway show
Where: Grand Palais, Paris, France
When: 3 May 2017
It's official. Summer is here. Like a yearly rite of passage welcoming the warmest season of the year, Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel cruise blowouts tend to be the textbook getaways we wish we were on. The year before, a racuous Cuban jamboree. And last night, a picture-perfect Grecian escape. Visions of pink sunsets, warm white-sand beaches and 50 shades of blue descended upon the Galerie Courbe of the Grand Palais, backdropped by raw, stone columns and paved by beachy gravel. Tweed shift separates and flowing ivory frocks set the mood, but it was the accessories (oh, the accessories) that were the winning brushstrokes in Lagerfeld's Mediterranean reverie.
Braided headbands inspired by Olympic laurels, glimmering arm cuffs and candy-coloured bangles, gladiator gloves and lace-up sandals, medallion necklaces and jewel encrusted chokers, floral hairpins and glistening shoulder dusters... Not forgetting, the arm candy. The whimsical renditions, a collector's ultimate fantasy.
