Joseph Schooling x Hugo Boss: The Singapore swim champ and Boss ambassador to drop an exclusive capsule collection
No one wears the number one title quite like Singapore's pride, Joseph Schooling. It wasn't enough that Schooling, well, schooled Michael Phelps in the 2016 Rio Olympics (how can we resist), beating the most decorated Olympian in the world for the gold medal in 100m butterfly, he had to do so in record time.
Continuing his streak (or should we say, 'stroke') albeit on dry land, Hugo Boss just named the 22-year-old its latest brand ambassador, an honour that had yet to be bestowed on a Singaporean face, until now. It is also Schooling's first dip into the fashion world — modelling and creating his own capsule collection in collaboration with Boss — one we are certain to open to him to an ocean of opportunities.
Of his partnership with Hugo Boss, Schooling said: "To succeed, you have to be committed in what you do. I take immense pride in all that I do and I give it my all. It is a tremendous honour to be part of such an iconic brand. Being a BOSS brand ambassador is significant to me because the brand's focus on quality and authenticity resonates with me on a personal level."

A limited edition capsule collection will be launched in Schooling's name, from which 15% of the sales revenue is committed to the Schooling Sports Academy, a program established last year by Schooling's parents to help support and train local athletes. Swathed in blue and yellow, the colour palette enveloping the polo shirt, T-shirt, shorts, bag and towel wasn't chosen for mere aesthetics — they are representative of Schooling's elements, water and gold, as well as his alma mater, Anglo-Chinese School.
Joseph Schooling x Hugo Boss will be available on 25 May at the reopening of the Hugo Boss Store in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
