Gucci Chinese New Year 2020: A Mickey Mouse collection for fashion collectors and the young-at-heart
Fine time
What most of the general population wear for a day out in the happiest place on Earth: tank top (for ventilation), jorts (for convenience), worn-in sneakers (for comfort), perhaps a backpack (for water and beauty essentials), and layers and layers of... sunscreen.
What the fashion set wears for a day out in the happiest place on Earth: the entire Gucci Chinese New Year 2020 collection, top-to-toe natch, featuring the icon himself, Mickey Mouse.
Shot by photographer and director Harmony Korine and starring Gucci ambassador and actress Ni Ni, actor Earl Cave, plus designer, stylist and poet Zoë Bleu, Gucci's latest campaign is all kinds of whoop-de-doo, calling on us to forget our ratty (heh) predictable outfits and up the ante the next time we step into Disneyland.
Until then, we'll just have to settle on fronting the limited editions — ranging from the Mini GG Supreme canvas handbags; Gucci Grip watch; and men's and women's ready-to-wear in jacquard motifs and embroidered patches, all adorning a Mickey Mouse print — at all the house visits during Chinese New Year. We'll even carry along the white matelassé quilted leather GG Marmont in case we run out of room for red packets. You never know.
It's dirty work, but we'll do it in the name of Gooch.
