The Father's Day gifts from Burberry that will make you kid of the year
Picking out presents for mother? The world is your oyster. Bags are good, jewellery is better, and when all else fails, the basics won't — nobody resists flowers and chocolates. Throw in a fancy brunch ending with a warm embrace and you can call it a celebrated success. Fathers however, are a tad trickier. Forget clothing, unless you have his exact measurements and he hasn't put on or lost weight since his last suiting. His golf set is ever complete and if he's anything like our dads, his tie and sock drawer runneth over.
Instead of playing the guessing game, take him to Burberry's in-store live demonstration of its monogramming service, available June 8 to 18. Most men aren't keen shoppers but we bet he'll want to browse in this respect. With the aid of the retail team, he can have one — or several, depending on how charitable you're feeling! — of the label's new or iconic pieces monogrammed up to three initials or symbols (either & or ♥) for something he can truly call his own.
Emboss small leather goods such as wallets and card cases from a selection of six foil colours; cashmere scarves can be adorned with multiple colours of embroidered thread and special characters; the monogram on the Rucksack and its matching nylon pouches are done with gold lettering sourced from an 18th century British embroidery specialist. Mr. Burberry, the latest fragrance from the house, can be engraved with letters too.
Available at Burberry at Ion Orchard.
