Military grade time-keeping: The Timex Camper MK1 Ltd. Edition watch
Ever since watches moved from the pocket to the wrist, American heritage brand Timex has made timekeeping affordably cutting edge with its compact and nifty designs. Delving into their extensive 150-year archive, Timex traced the historical trails of the US Army and reissued a military watch for the modern individuals through a civilian version of the Camper MK1.
Originally designed for the army in 1982, the Camper MK1 timepiece was strapped on the wrist of each American personnel who fought the Vietnam War. Having lasted the grimmest of wars, the watch was made to be used, abused and forgotten about. The remake of this rugged 36-mm watch shares the exact same utilitarian features: INDIGLO night-light lume and 50-metre water resistance. Wrapped up in an exclusive ripstop case are two interchangeable olive green nylon straps to opt from.
A note for vintage aficionados: Start making your move to get your hands on this military classic because The Camper MK1 comes in a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide — with only 50 pieces in Singapore.
The Timex Camper MK1 Limited Edition collection is available at Robinsons The Heeren, Tangs Plaza, Tangs VivoCity, Gallery & Co, Terrainware and The Assembly Store.
