What Selena Gomez is busy with when she's not recording, performing or hanging out with Justin Bieber
It's tempting to make sweeping assumptions about people, celebrities especially, though in truth, we only get glimpses of their lives via carefully edited and thoughtfully released posts and pictures on social media channels. Airbrushed and filtered, the frequency of which we're exposed breeds false familiarity. As if those aren't potent enough to conjure "fan fiction" within our imagination, steady streams of paparazzi photos pervade news outlets from Daily Mail to Buzzfeed to CNN. Heck, even if you're unplugged, trust your colleague or the woman next to you on the MRT to bring them up.
Celebrity culture. Addictive. Unstoppable. Omnipresent.
It's not just that we want to know what's going on in their lives (e.g. when proof of the Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber reunion surfaced, even we can't help but chime in), we're constantly curious about what they're thinking, eating and wearing.
For Selena Gomez, it's predominantly Coach since she was named ambassador in 2017. From what feels like a long way since she walked down the Met Gala red carpet (with then-beau The Weeknd) in her dreamy Coach gown, she's now dripping in silk, shearling and leather fronting the American label's spring 2018 campaign; a key item from which is Parker, a new lightweight bag, colourblocked and crafted in quilted nappa leather. Punctuated with rivets, its chain handles convert to a shoulder strap. The version Gomez carries will be available from February, with the signature canvas and smooth leather with a Tea Rose turnlock closure varieties to be released later in the season.
