Creative director Paul Andrew makes the old new again

Florals in fashion are a tall order. They're omnipresent without fail every season, and so we've seen them all, in prints, appliqués, embroidery and even patchwork. With such a huge miscellany accumulated over the years, sub-trends are bound to flourish within the trend itself. As for the look du jour? It's vintage vibes — just ask Ferragamo's Paul Andrew.

Redefining the summer lace-up sandal, he's done away with ties and ribbons predictable to the style of footwear. In its place, floral digital printed scarves unearthed from Ferragamo's archives that defy the archetype of printed shoe, solid lace-ups. The scarves' vibrant blooms play off an unexpectedly modest, sleek body; a subtle tweak to rejig summer ensembles once the mercury rises.
