The Belluno, Varina, Gavi and Vara are swathed in a kaleidoscope of glitz

Good things happen to those who wait, they say. But us humans are flawed; sometimes even when the good things in our lives arrive screaming and kicking for attention, we don't see them or appreciate them until they're one foot out the door.

Lucky us, Salvatore Ferragamo's good thing, the Rainbow sandal, has always stuck around (and has no plans to step off their pedestal) even if it wasn't always obviously present. What's referred to as the quintessence of Ferragamo — besides the Gancini emblem — is one of the sharpest symbols of the brand, first crafted in suede for one of Hollywood's original golden girls Judy Garland back in 1938.

Salvatore Ferragamo designed the original Rainbow for Judy Garland in 1938.

80 years later, the Rainbow is still undergoing reincarnation. This fall/winter season, it's the Belluno and Gavi sandals, as well as the Varina ballerina flats and Mini Vara Bow Flap Bag, receiving the royal treatment.

The Belluno and Gavi combine two Ferragamo signatures, the Flower heel and Rainbow hues, to birth modern classics further glamorised with gold bands and studs. Hardly needing an introduction, the Varina ballerina slippers dressed in the Vera bow have now been showered in crystals; similarly treated is the mini Vara bag, adding to your thunder for nights out to remember.
