For naysayers who feared Saint Laurent's fate after resident dissident Hedi Slimane took his leave, here lies creative director Anthony Vaccarello's first decree of reassurance. Like a call to arms, the brand's Cassandre logo stole the spring 2017 show; dissected, bejewelled and revered in the form of costume jewellery that brought the edge to the designer's glam.
Hitting stores this January are the two-piece monogram earrings — purposefully designed to adorn the lobes staggered, apart, or lined up as a whole. Like a memorandum of the punk spirit residing in the house's blood, here's proof that Vaccarello too, is capable of dishing out the bourgeois grit — with blackened steel iterations grounding the polished gold, silver, black and diamanté versions of the ear cuffs and studs. And guess what? It's only the beginning, with the logo stilettos hot on their heels.
Saint Laurent's monogram earrings are available in stores by January 2017.
