The Loewe bags we love right now: The Postal, the Hammock Drawstring bag, and more

From gigantic cat necklaces to trippy '60s inspired sunglasses — for his third Paula's Ibiza capsule; Marc Jacobs has them in three colourways and counting — and stingray-shaped leather caps, it's clear that Loewe's creative director Jonathan Anderson knows his way around a viral accessory. He also has a way, however, with universally flattering, under-the-radar-chic bags, some of which are still going strong years after their introduction (which is a lifetime in accessories terms).

So if you're in search of a new investment purse, we recommend starting — and in all likelihood, completing — your hunt at Loewe this season; browse our favourite, classic bag styles from the brand below, and click on the gallery captions to shop them all.

The Postal

Loewe's latest addition to its handbag repertoire is a good, old-fashioned frame purse, one of Jonathan Anderson's first structured styles for the house. Designed with the proportions of a postcard in mind, the Postal features the brand's signature anagram at the bag's top right corner, just like a real stamp.

The Flamenco Knot

The nautically-inspired Flamenco Knot is one of Jonathan Anderson's earliest designs for Loewe. Its slouchy body and double drawstring closure shows off the brand's buttery leathers to maximum effect, and is now available in a trendy mini size.

The Hammock Drawstring

This convertible cutie's fold-out, storage-enhancing extensions are now held in place with a drawstring, instead of the original Hammock's zips. Cut in a more substantial leather than the Flamenco Knot, the Hammock Drawstring is designed to look sleek and graphic, even when stuffed to the bursting; if only the same could be said for us in our food coma forms.

The Cushion Tote

Loewe's home decor line provided the unlikely inspiration for this boxy style, in the form of its cubic leather cushions. Minimalist in appearance and maximalist in capacity, the Cushion Tote is a walking contradiction that we can totally get on board with.

The Missy

The Missy's sliding top handle not only allows it to be carried as both a handbag and a clutch; it also makes the otherwise simple, almost 2D style an instant standout.
