Les Petits Joueurs, maker of the iconic Lego handbags, is now moving to shoes
New heights
Coco Chanel once said, "A woman with good shoes is never ugly". Of that sentiment, many are in agreement. But what makes a shoe, good? Craftmanship is obviously indespensable, as is heritage. Although, modernity is widely celebrated, for a design rooted in the past should always be seen through eyes renewed. They should tell a story, about themselves, about the wearer. After all, they are part of their story — literally the shoes one walk a mile in, and then some.
What makes a shoe good? The designers behind Les Petits Joueurs, the Italian accessories label carry with them, the weight and privilege of measuring themselves against long-established yardsticks. Already famous for their youthful bags — its distinct Love and Lego Brick designs were found in the arms of top fashion influencers at some point or other — Les Petits Joueurs is now venturing into footwear.
Echoing the wit and play of their known signatures, Les Petits Joueurs hopes to further arrest the fashion set with their strappy sandals, embellished slippers and sheer pumps. all colourful and a little cray, all carefully assembled by hand in Florence. Now, the only thing left to do (besides shop, obvi) is to wait for the shoes to feature the whimsical symbols such as smiley faces, lightning bolts, animal faces and pom pom fans have come to adore.
