For travellers on two wheels, Freitag's latest reflective backpack is built for the journey
Going the distance
The number of minutes humans spend getting from one place to another in the span of a year is mind-numbingly staggering. It’s in the trillions, and one way to digest such information (as The Washington Post has) is that it’s immense capacity wasted — better spent furthering human development in an ideal world. Key word? Ideal. Ergo inspiring, yet ever so unrealistic. Freitag however, proposes what’s plausible: to better and enrich the mundane experience.
Accessing the needs of commuters, the F155 Clapton backpack fashioned from the brand's waterproof, upcycled tarp attempts to improve the journey by drilling down on user experience. Reflective, safety markings illuminate when night falls; its 18L body is "expandable" and "retractable" courtesy of a roll-top closure; it makes for less sweating where bag meets body by way of mesh padded straps; and boasts an exterior built to accommodate a cyclist's helmet and lock.
Below, commuting made better with baby steps.
