Dior Lady D-Lite: There's more to the label's It bag from spring/summer 2020 than meets the eye
It's a delight
If you're a fan of Dior's Book Tote, you probably already know this: it takes no less than 32 hours to complete over one million stitches on the bag. This spring/summer season, Dior is extending their valuable couture know-how to a beloved house silhouette — the Lady Dior.
As opposed to quilted leather, the new Lady Dior (named Lady D-Lite) is fully constructed in Egyptian cotton, stitched a million times over including its handle, strap, flap, and pockets, revealing a tone-on-tone take on Dior's signature Cannage motif in three-dimensional embroidery. Similar to the Book Tote, Lady D-Lite is unlined for maximum visibility of its craftsmanship. We know what you're thinking: cotton sounds like risky business. However, practicality shouldn't be a concern, as the material is water-repellant and anti-rubbing, so you shouldn't expect pilling or colour transference... though we wouldn't necessarily take a chance with fresh dark jeans.
Personalisation on the back of the Lady D-Lite is possible — exclusively at Dior events and pop-ups. Meantime, pick from three lucky charms to go with your bag: the white, pale gold, or rose gold, the latter of which is only available with the purchase of the pink iteration.
