So-called "It Bags" are a dime a dozen these days, but Danse Lente's might truly live up to the title. Since its launch in 2016, the London-based label's statement pieces have set the entire fashion crowd talking. There are numbers to back up the hype: for their first online trunkshow with Moda Operandi, Danse Lente racked up a record-breaking number of pre-orders for accessories.

The brand — whose name means "slow dance" in French — was founded by shoewear designer Youngwon Kim. Modern art, furniture design and architecture are cited by Kim as the primary references for sleek, yet playful designs like its hit Johnny bucket bag. Working with skilled craftsmen, tanners and metalsmiths, Kim's impeccably-made goods have become front-rower favourites and street style-stars in their own right. However, it may be Danse Lente's affordable, millennial-friendly price point that has been the biggest factor in its cult-like status.
