Bottega Veneta ushers in the Year of the Dog with an exclusive Canine Collection
Who let the dogs out?
Honest question: If you're not a dog person, are you even a... person? Not that we have anything against the feline species — aside from its aloof temperaments as well as a lack of appreciation for and synergy with the human emotion, tsk — but there's only so much of Choupette Lagerfeld the fashion world can stomach each season.
New year, new furry friends, we say. Celebrating the Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day simultaneously are the Bottega Veneta canines, adopted just in time for the release of the Italian label’s The Canine Collection. German shepards, dachshunds, chihauhuas, labradors and poodles share the spotlight in the capsule, barking up embroidered wallets, pouches and key-holders (dog-shaped, duh), rendered in serigraphic prints and designed in signature intrecciato.
The piece that thaws our icy heart? A phone cover featuring a pup playing with a butterfly — a subtle nod to the true Bottega signature motif.
Bottega Veneta’s The Canine Collection will be available in stores from mid-January 2018.
