Berluti's savoir-faire meets street credibility

This wouldn't be the first time — nor the last — we wax poetic about Haider Ackermann's Berluti. His rebellious streak, we first took a gander at men's fashion week in Paris, circa fall/winter 2017. The status of the Berluti bomber we did a song and dance for: Pre-ordered. The clock to the release of his spring offerings is already set.

Another drop causing heart palpitations? The accessories, for which Berluti are known to stretch its dexterity. This season, we're treated to three hand-carry game-changers; the Velvet backpack, the All-in-One Day wallet and the Marin Underground bag.

Just like his ready-to-wear, Ackermann brought the attitude in the truckloads with his leather good offerings. The Velvet backpack — in khaki canvas, black canvas and black calfskin — emblazoned with "BRLT" stencilled in lizard skin, boasts stingray straps and a toro leather body. Marin Underground, taking after the duffles slung on the chests of Marines, features the same Berluti army emblem, available in full bison leather. Don't be fooled by the petite size of the All-in-One wallet; find 4 pockets and 12 credit card slots in the roomy space holding a removable zipped mini pouch with its own credit card slots within. Lizard leather is the way to go.

The Velvet backpack and All-in-One Day wallet are available in stores. The Marin Underground bag will arrive in August.
