Bella Hadid shows us how sexy is done in Giuseppe Zanotti
Eyes down there
Sex sells. There's no need to dance around it. Sex sells and it sells seductively well — particularly in fragrances (have you seen the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue eau intense campaign, or really, any perfume ad in the last couple of decades?); in music (Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's 'Despacito' featuring Justin Bieber is still the #1 song in the world, followed by equally suggestive 'Wild Thoughts' by DJ Khaled and Bruno Mars' 'That's What I Like'); and as it so happens, in shoes.
While the beauty industry has in its arsenal, alluring amber and musk notes, and the chart-dominating croons their sticky beats, the Giuseppe Zanottis of the fashion sphere have the heel to do its bidding. Behold, the Italian footwear's fall/winter 2017 collection, modelled by one very leggy Bella Hadid, natch.
It-girl impulse aside, Giuseppe Zanotti's time travel to the 1920s is surely irresistible to those on the hunt for their next #shoegasm.
Take the Charleston bootie, seen above. Its marabou feathers tracing the crystal-embellished laces would have fit right in at The Cotton Club, prohibition era's famed jazzy predecessor on the same hype plane as the later Studio 54. Another highlight from the label's steamiest collection is the Danielle sandal — the gold leaves seated atop the suede straps, and the reflective heel holding the roped tassels befit the Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith of today. Perhaps the most ingenious cognizance to the roaring decade here is the Naty, what with its well-placed turban across the shoe, or Candle high boots, designed to mimic the sparkly leggings from the era bygone.
