What to watch if you plan to "Netflix and chill" (or really chill)
Now in Singapore
Say goodbye to your social lives, for the entertainment mammoth Netflix is finally available in Singapore
It's finally here. Announced on 6 January at the keynote speech by Netflix's co-founder at electronics and technology tradeshow CES, the Internet TV network Netflix is now available to more than 130 new countries, with Singapore on the list. Apart from new markets, they've also added languages into their list of 17. With Arabic, Korean, simplified and traditional Chinese in the mix, you can now Netflix and chill with a more diverse crowd.
For starters, you can try it free for a month. After which, subscription in Singapore starts from $10.98 for a basic account which allows you to stream shows on a single device. This year, Netflix plans to release 31 new and returning original series, as well as 20 original feature films and documentaries.
After the announcement was made, Buro 24/7 Singapore scrambled to sign up for an account. The minute the black screen lit up with categories of television show and movie choices, it was clear that we have just lived a half-life thus far. All the shows that everyone's been raving about — Marvel's Jessica Jones, Narcos and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt — are finally available, legally.
So the next time you do a Buzzfeed quiz, you can actually choose the "Netflix and chill" option, with pride. Welcome to civilisation.
TO "NETFLIX AND CHILL"
Think adrenaline-fuelled action to get your heart racing, sexual tension to encourage heatwaves between yourself and your partner, or a good old romantic comedy to remind yourselves that it is possible to get out of the "friend zone". Never underestimate the occassional murder mystery documentary — imagine the insightful conversations that might just lead somewhere.

TO NETFLIX AND (ACTUALLY) CHILL
Picture this. It's Saturday night, you have no plans, and the pizza delivery flyer is conveniently within reach. Instead of miserably scrolling through your social media feeds or awkwardly attempting to dial that one friend you hardly see, pick up that leaflet, sign into Netflix and get ready to really chill.
