Things to do this weekend: vOilah! France Singapore Festival, Perspectives Film Festival 2020, and more
Time for the weekend
It's been quite a while since Phase 2 was introduced — and so, more and more of our favourite eateries, bars, and attractions have opened up their doors to customers. With that being said, bigger events still remain on hold. Not to fret though. This week, travel (virtually) to France and Venice, catch an indie film, or tuck into a special heritage-inspired meal.
EXPLORE | vOilah! France Singapore Festival 2020
Your name might not be Emily and you'd be hard-pressed to find a flight to Paris right now, but you still can channel your inner Parisian at this year's edition of vOilah! France Singapore Festival. The festival, presented by the Embassy of France in Singapore, takes on a hybrid format this year. With around 50 programmes surrounding French culture, education, science and lifestyle, the festival's opening coincides with the 100th anniversary of visits to Singapore by Georges Clemenceau, former French premier.
Happening from 22 October to 22 November. Click through for more information on festival's programmes.
FILM | Perspectives Film Festival 2020
Initiated in 2008, this annual student-led film festival shines a spotlight on indie films. For its 13th iteration, the festival will be held fully virtual for the first time following their partnership with The Projector Plus. The line-up includes eight award-winning international films reflecting this year's theme of 'Truth'. Ranging from introspective crime dramas to a documentary surrounding Internet meme Pepe the Frog, the festival is sure to keep you glued to the screen all weekend.
