It's been quite a while since Phase 2 was introduced — and so, more and more of our favourite eateries, bars, and attractions have opened up their doors to customers. With that being said, bigger events still remain on hold. Not to fret though. Our selection this weekend is sure to make you make full use of the long weekend ahead with martial art competitions, virtual open houses and plenty more.
Things to do | National Day Istana Open House
The crown jewel of Singapore opens its doors every year for visitors to come and check out the office of our Prime Minister and President. However given the circumstances this year, the open house will be held online via President Halimah Yacob's Facebook and Instagram platforms. The hour-long event will be hosted at 10am on 2 August, and will offer an insider's tour of rarely seen features. We're talking an air-raid shelter that's located in a cellar, as well as a 14.5-metre-deep well found on the side of the Istana's main building.
Entertainment | AIA Live
Global footballing superstar and fashion icon David Beckham — as well as AIA's Global Ambassador —will be sharing his secrets on keeping fit and healthy with his family during these tough times. The event on 2 August includes a thorough line-up of 20 local and international influencers, including former All Blacks rugby player Ian Jones; Malaysian squash princess Nicol David; and plenty more. Liven up your Sunday with yoga sessions, cooking demonstrations, alongside comedy and music performances at AIA Live.

Fans of mixed martial arts, prepare to be entralled. The world's largest martial arts organisation, ONE Championship, is set to resume its 2020 flagship event schedule with ONE: NO SURRENDER on 31 July, 8.30pm. It'll be held behind closed doors in Bangkok, Thailand, featuring an exciting card that includes two ONE Super Series World Championship fights and a ONE Super Series kickboxing super-bout between two of the world's top featherweight strikers.

However, if you prefer to lean on the safe side — aka watching movies from the comfort of your home —The Projector Plus (also known as P+) is a new 'digital home' where the community can come together online to enjoy the alternative content this cinema is known for.
