Tours, mural painting and hands-on workshops — Archifest focuses on involving people of all ages and backgrounds

Go on a tour and uncover fascinating insights about the design and construction of Singapore's award-winning buildings

The ever-popular Architours will feature eight tours to 24 locations this year. Step back into time at Dakota Crescent, home of the iconic dove playground, or get an insider's account of the award-winning Warehouse Hotel and its locally-sourced retrofitting.

Register and purchase tickets on Peatix.

Participate in a mural painting at Archifest Pavilion

Taking inspiration from void decks and narrow corridors of HDB flats, the Archifest Pavilion will host a series of talks by placemaking practitioners as well as an exhibition featuring the community-focussed projects of the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore. For the first time, visitors will be invited to contribute to a mural of the rainbow-hued Rochor Centre by painting bricks. A donation fee will go towards a selected charity.

Get hands-on at one of the Archicraft workshops

As Singapore becomes increasingly urbanised, the sustainable green spaces have become sanctuaries for city-dwellers to experience a moment of zen. The urban farming workshop will introduce participants to the concept of urban farming as well as reveal the opportunities to grow mini gardens and herb forests in underused spaces in homes and offices. Alternatively, stash away your mobile phone for a digital detox and capture the cityscape using pen, watercolour or charcoal during one of the outdoor city-sketching sessions.

Archifest runs from 28 September to 10 October 2018.
