Singapore's biggest carnival, EATMEPOPTART's 12th birthday bash and the Urban Ventures X House of Noise Street Party are all happening this weekend
ART | Karen Black – An Ordinary Poetry Former theatre practitioner and now award-winning artist, Karen Black is known for her intimate self-portraits and abstract observations of the world around her. More recently, she worked with the people living on the Turkish/Syrian border. Amongst an installation of folded, dropping canvases, her 15 new pieces are showcased, making it an entrancing walkthrough.
MUSIC | Urban Ventures X House of Noise Street Party Transforming Keong Saik road into a fiesta of love and music once again, this installment is back with an even more impressive lineup of 19 bands and 13 DJs. Catch Noise Mentorship's promising young acts Astronauts, Aural-Ink, Sarah Ann Wee and more on the main and acoustic stages.
ART | Placeholders Art Festival Treat yourselves to art installations from the likes of Julienne Tan, Mylene Leung-Vikesh and Toh Bee Suan, tunes by Ethel Yap and Jean Tan along with an artists' market. You won't be the only one smiling after this feel good arts fest. Proceeds raised will go to New Hope Community Services who provides shelter for displaced individuals.
CARNIVAL | The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival Spanning over an area equivalent to three and a half football fields, the carnival will feature over 40 rides and games that include hair-raising rollercoasters and a tower rider. Not much of a thrill seeker? Choose from more than 30 carnival game stalls. With over a million toys to be won, snagging a prize definitely won't be a one in a million chance.
MUSIC | Do you remember the first time? 12 Years of EATMEPOPTART Never lose that feeling with Singapore comedian Preetipls as she hosts the 12th birthday of EATMEPOPTART. Alternative rock act Supersect and dream-pop trio Sobs will be headlining the party alongside DJ sets from Thievves of Disco Hue, Tom Shellsuit and Zhan.
