5 things to do this weekend: 24 - 26 November
Who's the realest?
MUSIC | HYUKOH Live in Singapore
After rising through the Korean charts with hits, 'Come and Goes', 'Wi Ing Wi ing' and 'Panda Bear', HYUKOH has finally gained international traction over the past three years. Busk in Oh Hyuk's haunting vocals as he sings about coming-of-age experiences from their first full-length album, 23. From grooving along to 'Wanli' to watching your teenagehood flash before your eyes with 'Tomboy', you'll be in for a night of highs and lows.
24 November, 8pm till late at ZEPP@BIGBOX.
THEATRE | Mama White Snake
Directed by esteemed Singapore actress Pam Oei and written by veteran playwright Aflian Sa'at, Mama White Snake is based off classical Chinese opera and the Chinese folk tale, Madam White Snake. With a venerated cast deft in the workings of theatre which includes Glen Goei, Ivan Heng, Andrew Marko, Zelda Tatiana Ng, Siti Khalijah Zainal and Cheryl Tan, it's a hearty pantomine for everyone.
24 November till 16 December, 2.30pm to 7.30pm at Drama Centre Theatre.
ART | Goodman: B-Sides
Much like the B-sides of classic vinyl records, uncover obscure and unreleased bodies of works by 20 creatives at Block B of Goodman Arts Centre. We're particularly looking forward to music from the OG Singapore experimental band The Observatory.
25 November, 4pm to 10pm at Goodman Arts Centre Block B.
COMEDY | Vir Das: Boarding Das World Tour
If you still haven't heard of actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das' punchlines or seen his hour-long comedy special on Netflix, Youtube him now and he'll instantly become a permanent fixture in your watch history with his honest, straight-shooting comedy.
25 November, 8.30pm to 10pm at Capitol Theatre.
COMEDY | Blame It on Bianca (R18)
With her svoluminous lashes that still show through under all that shade she throws around, you definitely can't miss Bianca Del Rio, RuPaul's Drag Race season six winner.
26 November, 8pm to 11pm at Shine Auditorium Shaw Tower.
