A new private members club in Singapore is taking over New Majestic Hotel with KEEPERS
What a way to say farewell. As New Majestic Hotel shuts its doors after 11 years to make way for a new development (they're not taking any reservations from 15 May), the design-driven hotel is bidding goodbye with a party to celebrate Singapore's creatives. On 27 and 28 May, you can visit the hotel that's been transformed into a pop-up haven of retail shops, exhibitions, workshops and tastings.
Chief curator of KEEPERS, Carolyn Kan (who happens to be the founder of local jewellery label Carrie. K) has worked with Straits Clan to cater every floor to an area of interest: Food, design, fashion and art. As Straits Clan is positioning itself as a private members club for entrepreneurs and creatives, they've invited five personalities to personalise a room each as a tribute to Singapore's design culture. There's even an Artists' Attic.
All the homegrown brands you love are participating: Max Tan, Biro, Matter Prints and Creamier are among the lineup. You can also see artists like SKL0 in action, along with tattoo artists from Vagabond Ink, The Bold Fox and King Kong Tattoo.
