5 things to do this weekend: 28 - 30 July
ARTS | Shadowear - A Fashion Launch Performance
National Museum of Singapore introduces its latest programme, 'Singapore and the World' with a triple threat of fashion, music and dance. Designer Dinu Bodiciu, musician Bani Haykal and dancer Lee Mun Wai come together to give new life to clothing made from Bodiciu's shadows. Through choreographed moves as well as structured improvisation, the trio's performance sees them in an unending rehearsal as they challenge how different art forms define those fleeting moments shadows take up in our lives.
MUSIC | Sub City: Roygreen & Protone (Innerground, Liquid V, Spearhead)
Dance to the last Saturday of July with music party series Sub City. Playing high quality D&B, jungle and bass music, on the decks are jazzy DJ duo RoyGreen & Protone from Austria. Spinning alongside are Sub City regulars Senja and Kiat.
FESTIVAL | Le Clicquot Weekend 2017
Veuve Clicquot promises the weekend staycation of a lifetime with film, endless flutes of champagne, samba and gourmet food. Lay back and enjoy French cult classic, Amélie, in an open-air cinema, dance to English DJs Chris Deakin and Passion at a silent disco party, and indulge in a poolside brunch the morning after. Party continues till sunset.
FESTIVAL | After Dawn: BBQ Block Party
Camp Kilo returns for another round of daytime dancing and carnival fun. Shop leather goods by Maketh Project (who will also be providing a free leather embossing workshop), support illustrators like Llama Laine and and pick up plant hangers by Hang With Dora. It's also a pet-friendly event, so treat your pup to pumpkin chips by Pawesome Treats.
MUSIC | A Spanish Hendrick's Summer Fiesta
Celebrate summer the Spanish way with Esquina and Hendrick's Gin. Chill to the Ibiza beats of house DJ Nomsta, lavish in Spanish BBQ food such as grilled octopus, txistorra sausage with idiazábal cheese and juicy beef ribeye with chimichurri sauce prepared by chef Carlos Montobbio. Also, there's plenty of ice cold gins to drink.
