Tabitha Nauser, MAS1A, Sam Rui and M1lDL1FE are among the Singapore musicians performing at Music Matters 2017

Before the F1 Singapore Grand Prix races into town bringing stars such as Duran Duran and Ariana Grande onto our shores, show some love for our local music scene in a festival that's happening a few days before. Music Matters makes its return with more than 40 acts, both local and around the region such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and the Philippines. This time, they're celebrating their debut partnership with Apple Music to create content for these up-and-coming artists in a bid to make their music, well, matter.

On the Singapore front, we're represented by the likes of DEON, Dru Chen, Falling Feathers, Ffion, M1lDL1FE, MAS1A, Sam Rui and Tabitha Nauser. Stellar choices all around — Rui has just released her debut album, Falling Feathers is in demand more than ever after his signing with Warner Music and M1lDL1FE keeps us hot on their heels since their rename and new single, 'Distraction'.

Venues for the festival are spread across the CHIJMES outdoor lawn, Timbre and Hard Rock. Save the dates below.

Music Matters 2017 takes place from 9 to 13 September at CHJIMES.
