Kult Yard: Kult Kafe's masterminds convert a former police barrack into a cool bar and creative space
Open for business
After four years at Emily Hill, the brains behind hip insider hangout Kult Kafe have added another location to their portfolio. In a similar vein as Kult Kafe's discreet location, Kult Yard is situated within a former police barrack at Pearl's Hill Terrace in bustling Chinatown. Instead of uniformed policemen, the site is now home to an eclectic mix of musicians, design studios, and creative professionals.
A calm oasis away from the cultural precinct's touristy crowd, the 11-minute walk from Chinatown MRT to Kult Yard might be a tad long for some, but its refreshing cocktails (aka 'Kultails') that feature local flavours such as gula melaka and sambal belacan make it worth the trek.
Kult Yard will be celebrating its grand opening with a three-day fiesta from 18 to 20 October. They've invited their friends to join in too: DarkerThanWax's RAH and Funk Bast*rd will helm the decks while street artists such as Didier "JABA" Mathieu, Slac Satu (Zinc Nite Crew), and Antz (RSCLS) will be giving the venue a splash of colour with a live graffiti bomb session.
Be sure to mark your calendars for an evening of good vibes.
Kult Yard is located at 195 Pearl's Hill Terrace #01-54, Singapore 168976.
