Here are the world's top 10 running songs of 2015
Run the world
Who run the world? According to Spotify, it's Queen Bey.
The music streaming app has unveiled the world's most-streamed running song of 2015, and it's none other than Beyoncé's 2011 hit, Run the World (Girls). In fact, Spotify has shared that female artists dominated running playlists, with artists such as Sia, Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliot and Rihanna in the top 10. There were only three male artists in the mix: Mark Ronson, Wiz Khalifa and Calvin Harris.
See the list below to find out just how mainstream your running jam is.
1. Run the World (Girls), Beyoncé
2. Chandelier, Sia
3. Uptown Funk, Mark Ronson
4. See You Again, Wiz Khalifa (feat. Charlie Puth)
5. 7/11, Beyoncé
6. Heartbeat Song, Kelly Clarkson
7. Work It, Missy Elliott
8. No Scrubs, TLC
9. Bitch Better Have My Money, Rihanna
10. Feel So Close, Calvin Harris
If there's one thing the chart-toppers have in common, it's their undercurrent of independence, determination and hard work, which are really what you need in running anyway. What you don't need are scrubs, which TLC affectionately reminds us time and again.
