Fringe friends

THELIONCITYBOY, Sam Rui, Tabitha Nauser, Vandetta and Stopgap are among the local acts performing at Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix

While the likes of Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, Duran Duran, OneRepublic, Seal, The Chainsmokers and Lianne La Havas performing over three days at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, you'd think there would be enough names to keep us entertained. Apparently not — and for good reason. Besides the headlining acts, Singapore GP's entertainment wheel just keeps turning with fringe events, taking advantage of the seven stages across the Circuit Park.

Fans of hiphop, r&b and indie music will delight in the local names scheduled to perform. High off their recent album releases are Sam Rui and Vandetta, who are joined by fellow r&b crooner Tabitha Nauser — the latter will collaborate with rapper ShiGGA Shay on a song exclusively for F1. THELIONCITYBOY will also perform, while his partner Aarika Lee steps in with her band for some indie-esque sounds. The boys from Stopgap are expected to add some playfulness to the circuit as well. For a club experience, Zouk DJs Ghetto, LeNerd and Andrew Tang will get you going.

Apart from live music, you can look forward to theatrics from Aussie circus troupe Strange Fruit, who'll debut Circuit Park's newest entertainment Zone located near Victoria Theatre. Another high-octane act is DrumCat, South Korea's all-female drumming group that's bound to get hearts racing.

Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix will take place from 15 to 17 September.
