Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2019: Cardi B, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and more to perform in September
Some of music's biggest names have routinely descended on our shores in September for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. In the past, we've had everyone from divas (Maria Carey in 2010) to of-the-moment faces (Dua Lipa in 2018) drawing crowds who would otherwise stay far off the race track.
This year's entertainment line-up is no exception. Headliners include house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia, American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, recent Grammy winner Cardi B, beats mastermind Fatboy Slim, English rock band Muse — and curiously — legendary film score composer Hans Zimmer whose credits include Gladiator (2000) and Interstellar (2014).
That's not all, though. Several up-and-coming names from all over the world have been invited to perform in Singapore for the very first time. These multi-genre acts include Indian dream pop duo Parekh & Singh, Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari, Afro-pop group Jupiter & Okwess from Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenyan-American singer JS Ondara, Thai tropical quintet Gym & Swim and Malaysian singer-producer NJWA.
All that raving is sure to get you hungry so you'll be happy to know celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal will be making his culinary debut at the Singapore Formula 1 Paddock Club. The man is a British icon. His restaurant The Fat Duck has been anointed with three Michelin stars and is regularly named one of the best in the world while his ready meals for premium supermarket Waitrose have been snapped up with fervour since its launch in 2012. Others serving up some good nosh include NOBU at The Boardwalk, Rockpool by Neil Perry, COMO Cuisine in Partnership with Culina, Tarte by Cheryl Koh and Stockton Bar by Maximal Concepts.
