Say hello to Maduro, a new listening lounge and bar in Dempsey
Sound of music
Located among the hills on Dempsey, right above the French bistro Atout, Maduro will open its doors this Friday on 24 May to the public. Besides serving up some rare Scottish malts, vintage wines and a slew of well-made classic cocktails, Maduro prides itself on being a listening lounge and bar.
The music is slated to be as fluidly intoxicating as the liquors it serves. That means, it'll flow across genres from calm classical tunes during the day to uptempo jazzy vibes at night. Maduro will have two live music nights in a week: 1819 Tuesdays and Tiara Friday Club. Its first ever Tiara Friday Club night on 24 May will feature jazz singer Melissa Tham who is expected to belt out some old favourites from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.
The man behind it all is just as mysterious as the joint itself (images of its interior haven't been released yet). All we know about the 64-year-old gentleman is that he was a sought-after pianist in 1980s before he became a bank-rolling real estate broker in London.
Watch this space as we'll be updating it with more images as soon as we receive them.
