Yin Phua: Buro 24/7 Singapore Playlist #122

Moment to moment

Television producer, Yin Phua of Asia's Got Talent shares the anthems that have defined her life

My current project, Asia's Got Talent, has consumed my life and one of the things I do for work is to find music that fits an emotion and moment that will help amp up the scene. In many ways, my life is like these moments that I work on and each scene has a definitive track. This playlist recalls very significant times in my life when these tunes had come along to set the tone and have become my anthem until the next one.

Paul Kalkbrenner's 'Sand and Sky' will always bring me back to a time spent with friends and the feeling of hope and eternal optimism. The first time I heard 'Ain't Got No, I Got my Life' by Nina Simone was when I watched a documentary about the singer. The lyrics were so poignant to me —it's a track that reminds me constantly to be grateful for what I have.

'Ghostwriter' by RDJ2 was my morning tune when I first started work. It was timed perfectly to get me from the coffee shop to the office. A perfect morning pick-me-up. 'Everywhere' by Fleetwood Mac never gets old. It can be on repeat and still gives me the same amount of joy. It's the ultimate love song that I have with my girlfriends, dancing around singing "I want to be with you everywhere..."

My husband introduced me to 'That's Us/ Wild Combination' by Arthur Russell and it's forever tied to how I see our relationship.
