#WomanCrushWednesday: Daniela Andrade
Smooth as butter
You might be one of the 12 million who has viewed Daniela Andrade's raw cover of Radiohead's Creep on Youtube — but if you aren't, you should be. Her silken smooth vibrations have a soothing attribute that has been compared to jazz queen Norah Jones'. And after eight years of making a household name through stripped-down acoustic covers and occasional originals, the 24-year-old debuted her first EP, Shore, earlier this July.
Shore is Andrade's biggest project yet. Fusing eye-pleasing short films with four heartfelt tracks, it's a visual record that tells of a poetically modern story of how love falls in and out. Dreamily beautiful as her falsettos, the four clips were shot through a six-week journey across Morocco, Cuba and Canada with the singer-songwriter seemingly floating in different otherworldly universes each. Watch the unfolding of the chapters here and find yourself immersed in a visual trance as sublime as an Andrade-induced aural high.
