Loud and clear
Positions by Ariana Grande
Get into your Positions, people because Ariana Grande has just dropped her latest single. The sultry new track — lined with a driving guitar rhythm — comes after a surprise album announcement by Grande. Although little is known about her forthcoming album, Grande had subtly hinted that she was working on fresh music when she tweeted earlier in the month that she was 'turning in these mixes' whilst encouraging her fans to register to vote. Whilst the exact date for her album release is also unknown as of yet, the thank u, next singer did tweet that it'll drop before the end of the month. Thank you, Ariana, for delivering us new tunes that will tide us through the rest of the year.
Spicy by Ty Dolla $ign (feat. Post Malone)
Things are heating up with Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone's latest collaboration, Spicy. Joining forces once again after their 2018 hit collaboration, Psycho, the offering this time is no less groovy. Featuring an addictive hook topped with low end heavy bass beats, the salacious new single sees Ty and Post delivering their signature husky vocals. The new track is one of the 23 collaborations from Ty's new album, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, which is set to drop today. "You know, that magic that only that person could bring to a song," said Ty in a social media statement. "Spicy needed Post's frequency. Plus, we were overdue for another hit after Psycho. I'm just grateful that he lent his frequency to this song because we DEFINITELY got another one! Shout out to my bro Posty!"
Can't Wait to Be Dead by FINNEAS
Finneas returns with a rather sombrely-titled new single, Can't Wait to Be Dead. In the new track, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and record producer reflects on his frustration with the Internet. "I'm happy for this song to mean anything to anyone who listens to it, but, to me, it's a song about my relationship with the internet," Finneas explained in a statement. "Especially in an election year. Especially during a pandemic. Sometimes, the internet makes me laugh, sometimes it makes me cry, sometimes it makes me hopeful. But sometimes, it really makes me wanna be dead." His second single of 2020, the new track comes after production work on music for artistes like Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, as well as after his sister Billie Eilish revealed that a new song will be dropping in November, for which will undoubtedly feature Finneas' production work.
I Love It by Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue is grooving away in her latest single, I Love It. A straight-up disco track, the new song channels a feel-good nostalgic tune that will instantly have you dancing away. I Love It marks the third single off Minogue's upcoming album, Disco, slated to release on 6 November. Arguably the most disco-esque single off the three releases, the new track should keep fans buzzing as they await the album. The Australian icon has described the upcoming fifteenth studio album as 'disco for grown-ups', wishing that the tunes will bring a sense of escapism from current world on matters. Minogue worked on the album throughout the COVID-19 lockdown, and recorded the tracks at her home studio.
Inside Out by Zedd (feat. Griff)
Zedd has tapped the vocals of British singer-songwriter Griff for his latest single, Inside Out. The fizzy new offering sees the rising singer showcasing her superpower vocals atop Zedd's zestful production. "Inside Out is a special song to me and is one of my favorite things I've made in a while," the record producer wrote in a post. "It makes me feel happy, optimistic, hopeful and enthusiastic... all things that I have been lacking throughout quarantine to be perfectly honest. I really hope you enjoy the song as much as I do. I've started working on it around a year and a half ago; maybe some of you recognize some of the bits from some stories I've posted but today, finally, the song is out for everyone to hear. And again, a huge thank you to Griff for the beautiful vocals."
