#StayHomeDiaries: How local actor and musician Tosh Rock is spending his days in isolation
Just a few months ago, the phrase 'social distancing' was unheard of. Now, it's become the new normal — and if the three-phased post-circuit breaker approach is any indicator, it's that we won't be doing away with it anytime soon. In this week's #StayHomeDiaries, we check in with actor and musician Tosh Rock to see what he's up to during these unprecedented times.
Describe your day in quarantine
Wake up! Shower and freshen up. Have a simple meal. Look through social media. Chat with my friends. Workout. Eat. Shower. Game. Eat. Chill. Work on music. Sleep!
What is your latest quarantine creation?
I just moved house! It was a pain to pack and move during the circuit breaker, but it feels good to settle in a new place.
What have you been pondering about during self-isolation?
If a security guard is insecure, does that make him an insecurity guard? Is the ocean salty because the beach did not wave back? If someone touches my mole without permission, is it considered MOLEst?
What is the best thing that's happened to you since staying home?
I've had lots of well-deserved me-time, which I did not have much of before. I sleep much better too.
What is the worst thing that's happened to you since the CB started?
Not being able to travel! I used to travel at least once a month before CB.
What do you miss most about the outside world?
Being able to have meals at restaurants. Being able to shop. Being able to hang out with my friends freely, whenever and wherever we want.
Was there something you had hoped to achieve before the circuit breaker ended?
Nothing in particular. We're going through a global pandemic, not a productivity challenge (lol jk). But on the real though — I'm making a lot more music during this period so I'll have more projects to drop in the months to come!
What do you think the post-coronavirus world will look like?
Life will never go back to normal entirely after COVID-19. There will be a new normal, and we will all have to adjust and adapt — whether we like it or not.
What is the first thing you'll do when the CB ends?
Have a sumptuous meal with my family at a nice restaurant, and have a good time with my closest friends at a nice speakeasy bar.
