Photographer and director Marc Tan: Visual Questionnaire #13

Photographer and director Marc Tan: Visual Questionnaire #13

Peripheral vision

Text: Tracy Phillips

Marc Tan was studying music in Melbourne when he picked up photography as a way to document the gigs he was attending and the bands that he ended up travelling with. After moving back to Singapore in 2013, he began to take photography more seriously and started out by capturing fashion imagery. By 2015, he had worked with brands like Adidas and had put on 'In A Lonely Place', an exhibition featuring a film and photographs of Hong Kong as a homage to the maternal side of his family.

It was in 2016 that Tan co-founded Studio Periphery with fellow photographer Khoo Guo Jie. He has since expanded his portfolio to include more lifestyle, product, interior and architecture photography. Today, he counts companies like Aesop, Facebook and Airbnb as some of his clients.
