Before you say "farewell, so long, auf wiedersehen, goodnight" to The Sound of Music in Singapore, look back at the film that captivated the world in 1965

Whether you're more Gen Y than Gen X, old millennial than Gen Z, everyone has grown up with The Sound of Music, one way or another. The timeless story of Maria and the von Trapp family is truly one that remains relevant from generation to generation, from the moment Julie Andrews proudly exclaimed that the hills of Austria were very much alive in 1965, to when Lady Gaga shocked audiences with her powerful rendition of the film's favourite hits at the 2015 Oscars.

Based on the true story of Maria von Trapp's relationship with the von Trapp family in pre-war times, The Sound of Music introduced us to songs such as 'My Favorite Things', 'Do-Re-Mi', 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain', 'Edelweiss' and of course, 'The Sound of Music'. Thanks to Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, Base Entertainment Asia, Sliding Doors Entertainment and David Atkins Enterprises, you can relive the magic of this musical in Singapore, but not without a timely throwback first.

The Sound of Music runs till 3 December at Sands Theatre, Mastercard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands. Book tickets.
