#WomanCrushWednesday: Ruby Rose
Reading between gender lines
Before you ask: Yes, Ruby Rose is her real name, or at least part of it. Originally Ruby Rose Langenheim, it seems as if the actress was born for a career in the spotlight. Starting as a model back in 2002, she has since dabbled as a VJ, actress, fashion designer, and musician. With talent, smarts, and those striking features, Rose is a force to be reckoned with.
We could wax lyrical about her androgynous charm: How her defined, Angelina Jolie-esque features could carry off almost any look in the book. In dark eyeliner and a pink lip, Rose is a vision of classic beauty — be it masculine or feminine. In any case, we're counting ourselves lucky that she's found her place in Hollywood. She's been making her mark as inmate Stella Carlin in the acclaimed Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, drawing more attention to her as a serious actress.
Rose has yet to be billed for any lead roles in the near future, but we're keeping our eyes peeled for her continued success.
