Don't get us wrong: the global pandemic is no joke. It has pulled the rug from under our feet, halting everything from events to travel to physical human interaction. These are difficult times. But amidst the panic and horror, silver linings are everywhere. Meme-makers are flooding the Internet with funny content to make us laugh through our anxiety. Optimists and light-bringers are spreading postive vibes with uplifting messages and stories to give us hope. Here are our favourite 20, for 2020:

So here we are, setting new dating standards.

You're supposed to wash your hands for 20 seconds. UK Health Minister Matt Hancock suggested singing "happy birthday" while at it, but people soon got tired of the tune. Developer William Gibson quickly came to the rescue with his little site washyourlyrics.com, which generates an infographic with lyrics to the song of your choice that will last for the appropriate amount of time to wash your hands. You're welcome.
