Is that Nicole Kidman in BBC's Top of the Lake?
2017 may just be the Year of the Kidman. Not only is the Oscar-winning actress on her way to (potentially) claiming an Emmy for her performance on HBO twisted drama Big Little Lies, she's also in a whopping four projects that showcased at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. One of which is Jane Campion's Top of the Lake: China Girl, where she joins Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss and Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie.
The critically acclaimed crime-mystery series follows the death of an unidentified Asian girl found at Bondi Beach, where Kidman plays an adoptive mother. Her transformation for this role may be her biggest one yet, as she looks at least a decade older than her 50 years of age. Cue grey, large wispy hair, wrinkles and that tailored coat with shoulder pads your aunt never leaves house without — this Moulin Rouge! starlet is serving us Victorian art gallery looks.
