#ManCrushMonday: Leonardo DiCaprio
And the award goes to...
Oh, Leo. Awards season always takes the piss out of the five-time Oscar nominee. Now in the running for Best Actor for his role as Hugh Glass in The Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio joins the league of extraordinary talents who've never won any Oscars themselves: Glenn Close, Gary Oldman, and Ralph Fiennes. The English patient himself? Really, Academy?
This year's chances, however, seem pretty promising for DiCaprio. The fan favourite has already nabbed a Golden Globe, a SAG, and a BAFTA. Since his first Oscar nomination at the age of 19 for his role as a disabled youth in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, it's high time the 41-year-old gets recognised for his ability to straddle both action and emotion, and attract a supermodel or two in the process.
Enough of the Leonardo DiCaprio collection of sad memes and gifs. If you'd really like to put this actor out of his misery, we suggest the online game, Leo's Red Carpet Rampage. Developed by The Line Animation, you'll help DiCaprio chase an Oscar and beat out fellow competitors Michael Fassbender (in Steve Jobs) and Eddie Redmayne (in The Danish Girl). Sure, you'll need to hop above a few paparazzi and fellow Oscar nominee Lady Gaga, but in a few rounds, an Oscar might just be within reach. Try it out here — in the meantime, keep your eyes peeled and fingers crossed for 28 February.
