Meural's smart tech brings the world's greatest art into your home through a photo-realistic digital frame
State of the art
Imagine hanging the world's greatest works of art on your crib's walls. Meet Meural Canvas, a smart digital frame that brings museum quality art into your home.
More than just a digital photo frame — Meural Canvas utilises a glare-free, matte display screen with an adaptive ambient lighting system, as well as a patented TrueArt technology that allows each digital art piece to look lifelike and as vividly textured as the museum original from all angles.
It comes with a three-year subscription to Meural's 50,000-strong library of artworks that are easily browsable on its dedicated app. Depending on the orientation, the Canvas will automatically display art that's intended specifically for vertical or horizontal modes, which means you won't get any undesirable cropping.
The frame is also integrated with motion sensors for gesture-based controls (swipe left and right to change art or swipe up to see a description of the piece), which allows you and your guests to interact with the frame without leaving pesky fingerprint marks.
While the Meural Canvas will never be able to replicate the thrill of owning an actual art piece, it could change the way the rest of the world consumes art. For starters, this smart art frame is making art more accessible, especially if it's incorporated in public spaces such as schools and hotels. The Canvas will also help up-and-coming artists reach a wider global audience while encouraging emerging artists to explore new ways of art creation (i.e. moving paintings and photographs).
The 27.5-inch Meural Canvas is available in one size only at the moment, but we hear bigger and smaller frames are in the pipeline.
