Aramsa Garden Spa review: A peaceful sanctuary for a massage, facial, and body scrub or two

The quick escape

Text: Janice Sim

The idea of escapism can be pretty challenging in this current climate. We can't hop on a plane, be subjected to time differences, or activate Airplane Mode for a valid reason. This pretty much means we're still connected — or rather — very much contactable even on our leave days.

Your next best bet? A relaxing retreat in one of our city's oldest sanctuaries, Aramsa Spa. The garden oasis shrouded within a national park that is probably Ang Mo Kio's best kept secret. Beyond the stoic walls of hotel establishments, Aramsa lets in a greener, verdant ambiance to unwind from the city clutter.

Aramsa

17 uniquely designed treatment rooms reside here, and they're all cleverly spread out in a garden labrinyth, along with a lounge and shower facilities. Setting foot here would do wonders in dissociating any sort of the concrete jungle we've been acclimated to.

The price point is also one that won't break the bank, with affordable packages of body massages and even couple retreats. In a 60-minute Aramsa Touch massage, our therapist made sure to tackle every single knot with careful attention to our comfort levels as well as concern areas. And while you're there, make sure to try out New Zealand skincare brand Trilogy, a partnership that is ongoing with Aramsa.

Trilogy

After all, 60 minutes in utter bliss can often feel too shortlived, so opting for another hour of Trilogy Vitamin C facial would make a world of a difference. Contrary to the typical facials that involve extractions, this treatment aims to renew your skin with Trilogy's line of products alongside the nimble movements of the therapist's facial massage. The best part? All their formulas are clean and natural, as opposed the synthetic solutions that are out there in the market.

A key product from the experience has to be the Trilogy Vitamin C Booster, that's an entirely natural and fresh lotion with a two-week expiration date from the start of use. We left the session not only feeling more rejuvenated and rested, but our skin too, appeared to be more radiant and dewy. While the escape might not have been a far-flung journey, but it was definitely pretty rewarding just to shut off — physically and mentally — for a few hours in this little hideaway.

From now till June, book a Weekday Mother's Day Special (2 hours) at $198 nett (U.P $336), which includes a 60mins Aramsa Touch Body Massage and 60mins Trilogy Vitamin C Facial.
